This is the holiday photo that has gone around the world and has everyone asking, “is that for real?!”

From what seems to be the BEST photobomb by a stingray ever, finally the owner of the photo explains – is it a hoax? 

Well…kind of.

School teacher Sarah Bourland along with fellow holidayers Natalie Zaysoff and Kendall Harlan, had the photo taken at Stingray Island, Cayman Island during spring break

Sarah Bourland told Huffington Post:

"The photographer originally asked us to take a photo with the stingray in front of us, which we did, but then afterward as a joke he put it on our backs without us knowing!

"Our reactions are genuine, and the photographer snapped the photo at the perfect time.

"We had no idea that the photo was so brilliant until later when he showed us the proof. We immediately bought it."

The school teacher said she found “the entire thing hilarious”.

Even her students want autographs from their new “celebrity” teacher!
