Hahndorf crash A truck driver involved in a fatal crash in the Adelaide hills has walked from court after being given a three-month suspended jail sentence.

Errol David Cain, 68, was found guilty in the District Court of driving without due care.

In February 2010, the semi-trailer he was driving crashed into the back of a parked car in the emergency lane of the South Eastern Freeway, near the Hahndorf exit.

The smash killed Linda Carter, 43, who was waiting for help because of a flat tyre.

Prosecutors argued Cain fell asleep at the wheel, but Judge Paul Cuthbertson said that assertion was based on thin evidence.

Cain was given a two-year good behaviour bond and disqualified from driving for 10 months
