Opponents of a proposed wastewater treatment plant at Callington are questioning any benefits.

Private company Alano Water has lodged a development application with Murray Bridge council for construction of the facility on land just outside the Mt Barker council district.

The company yesterday outlined details at a public meeting.

Residents spokeswoman Narelle Thomas says she’s be surprised if the company can prove any benefits to locals.
