marine parks Industry and community groups claim bans on fishing in proposed marine parks will put more than 120 people out of work.

They also claim the bans would force fishing families to move away to find new jobs.

This news compares with research commissioned by the State Government showing up to 124 jobs are expected to be lost if 19 marine parks are established off the coast.

Final drafts of proposed marine parks were released in late August and public consultation closes on the 22nd of this month.
