Irrigators along the Murray want to see unlocked, $240 million in Federal funding by returning up to 40 billion litres of water to the environment.

They hope the money will help reinvigorate communities still suffering from the impacts of the drought, the high Aussie dollar and volatile international markets.

The irrigators have so far been unable to access the Federal $5 billion infrastructure fund because they’re already water efficient.
