fallen trees A severe weather warning has been cancelled as regions tidy up after days of stormy activity that saw River Murray and KI ferry services put out of action.

Wind gusts in excess of 100 kmh were recorded with the highest – 119kmh – at Cape Borda.

A houseboat at the Wellington Marina came to grief and a small section of the Marketplace shopping centre roof gave way, while at Monteith, a caravan was destroyed by a fallen tree.

At Goolwa, a house lost its roof and another its verandah as an estimated 5,000 consumers lost power.

Trees were uprooted and debris littered many country roads and paddocks

The weather bureau says the state recorded the strongest wind gusts for at least a decade.

Meanwhile a replacement KI ferry service is to operate from today
