Police say they’d like to hear from anyone with information that may assist their investigation over the death of a man run over by a goods train at Tailem Bend.

That happened Sunday night at about 7.40pm.

Reports suggest it is being treated as possible murder as the 32 year old victim was allegedly assaulted before he died.

Supt Ian Parrott from the Murray Mallee local service area says it’s very early in the investigation.

He says there’s a period of time from when the victim left a Tailem Bend hotel to when he was struck by the train and that time is unaccounted for.

Meanwhile a 20 year old man from Lenswood has been remanded in custody over the shooting murder of a Charleston dairy farmer earlier this year.

Graham Mieglich (pictured) was found shot dead in the bedroom of his home on June 6.
