Targa Adelaide’s fatal crash |
|
Questions are still being asked about the safety of the Targa Adelaide rally after the death of a driver – the 4th in 15 years of the Hills events.
There are calls for the rally to be moved off public roads with some opponents claiming they’ll blockade the rally route in future. The Oodnadatta family of the victim Adam Plate (pictured) has backed the Hills event saying he would have wanted the rally to continue even though yesterday’s final stage along Main Road, Chandlers Hill was cancelled by organisers. Plate’s Mitsubishi hit a tree and rolled in mid air ending up in a paddock during the Clarendon stage on Friday afternoon. The circumstances of the crash are under investigation.
