The Wentworth Group of Concerned Scientists has called on federal Parliament to reject the latest proposed Murray Darling Basin plan.

The group has released a 4-page media statement titled ‘once again the taxpayers pays, individuals benefit and the river loses’.

It says in part the foundations of the plan are shoddy and the end result is a shoddy house.

It also notes the August version does not identify how much water must be returned to achieve a healthy, working river – and comply with the federal Water Act.
