Six of 12 new weeds of national significance are subject to draft plans and the community is encouraged to have a say.

The new weeds include asparagus weed, cat’s claw creeper, fireweed and madeira vine.

According to Biosecurity SA, each species has been assessed as nationally significant because of it’s economic, environmental and social impacts and the potential to spread further across Australia.
