Nationals leader Warren Truss says the Dukes Highway is in good condition.

The federal MP recently undertook a road trip from Melbourne to Adelaide adding he’s impressed by recent upgrades to the highway.

Meanwhile a 28-year-old man from Victoria has been fined over $700 after he was caught speeding at 171 km/h along the Dukes Highway at Keith in the Upper SE. 

He also received an immediate six month loss of licence. 

Senior police say there have been a number of fatal crashes on the Dukes Highway and this driver's actions were extremely irresponsible.
