Murray Bridge council has secured a $7 million grant through the Commonwealth’s urban water and desalination plan.

Mayor Allan Arbon says the grant will fund a stormwater harvesting and re-use scheme that takes in the Gifford Hill residential development, the new racecourse and Murray Bridge.

He says there’s strong community support for the project.

One of the key features is to reduce reliance on the Murray.
