| Coldest Morning |
|
If you thought it was a little cooler than usual lately, you’re not wrong! Wednesday the 1st of August has registered it’s lowest temperature since 1999. Adelaide dropped to it’s lowest temperature in 13 years just before sunrise on Wednesday when it dropped to 1.7 degrees. The morning’s 2.2 degree temperature was 6 degrees below the average minimum temperature of 8.2 degrees for the month of August. So what brought about this unlikely cold snap? A cold front which recently passed us caused a lot of cold air and a large high pressure system is also to blame as it moved across, causing clear skies and light winds. Even Adelaide Airport recorded their lowest August temperature in 10 years at 1.3 degrees. Extra cloud cover and wind should increase temperatures, bringing them closer to the average over the next few days. |
