There should be more independent wind farm studies according to the Local Government Association.

It has urged the move covering issues such as the social, health and economic impacts of wind farms.

The Association’s Chris Russell says it would also like to see a change in the way development applications are considered while the State Government's interim wind farm planning rules apply.
