A new report suggests regional SA is worth at least $16billion a year to the state's economy but is not being included in planning.

The SA Centre for Economic Studies document was prepared for the Local Government Association .. and highlights the economic contribution of the regions.

LGA president and Alexandrina Council mayor Kym McHugh says there’s a feeling in the bush the State Government doesn’t take the regions seriously.

He says the LGA wants to develop a statewide discussion paper to get everyone working together.
