A Barossa-based Opposition MP has been reminded of the risk associated with old bridge paint and the potential presence of lead by the state government.

Ivan Venning has decided to go ahead and paint the bridge at Nuriootpa in his electorate – a bridge he claims has been neglected as far as a spruce up is concerned.

Mr Venning claims there’s been strong public support claiming he’d look a ‘real squib’ if he’d said no.

He says the bridge is very drab and unpleasant looking.
