Wet weather across weekend

wet weather People are being warned not to travel through floodwaters as heavy rain, at times, continues to fall across parts of the Hills, South Coast and elsewhere. Fresh problems emerged in the Strathalbyn area this afternoon (Friday).

The SES and other emergency services responded to numerous emergencies yesterday including sandbagging of properties where the ground became saturated. Fallen trees were another hazard and there was the chance a couple of football grounds in the Great Southern Football League zone will be unplayable tomorrow (Saturday).

Flooding did eased on Thursday night but several downpours early and during Friday morning after constant rain dumped rain on many areas especially across southern parts of the state.

The Weather Bureau said June rainfall had been the heaviest since 2005.
