The claws have come out in a big way on American Idol and it’s Mariah V Nicki!

Nicki Minaj has denied she threatened to gun down Mariah Carey as was reported earlier this week.  The rapper was taped yelling abuse at Mariah Carey during taping of American Idol.

Mariah Carey revealed on The View Thursday that people on set had heard Minaj say, “If I had a gun, I would shoot the b***h".”

Nicki Minaj has since lashed out at Mariah Carey on Twitter denying claims that she made such a statement.

“Hey yAll. Lets just say nicki said smthn about a gun. ppl will believe it cuz she’s a black rapper. Lmao. I’ll then hit up Barbara n milk it (sic),” she posted.

“Ironically no camera or mic heard the gun comment tho. Lol @ the struggle. Not even the producers believed u. Say no to violence barbz.

“Barbara walters didn’t reach out from our team barbz. I guess we’re too dangerous. Don’t shake if u don’t wannA get shook!!!! LmAooooooooooo.”

Mariah Carey claims that several staff, hairdressers and producers also heard the statement.  Carey also revealed through Barbara Walters that she had hired extra security due to the personality clash.
