| John Mayer “Humiliated” |
|
It seems…the tables have turned. John Mayer has been given a taste of his own medicine revealing to Rolling Stone magazine that he was “humiliated” by his former girlfriend Taylor Swift and the song she supposedly wrote about him, Dear John. John Mayer has often spoken candidly about his past relationships, but now it seems it’s Taylor’s turn to spill the beans. Swift has previously hinted that the song is about her break up with Mayer, but the song’s lyrics speak volumes. “Don’t you think I was too young to be messed with?” “Maybe it’s you and your sick need to give love then take it away.” “Don’t you think nineteen’s too young to be played with?” “Your dark twisted games when I loved you so…” John Mayer spoke openly to Rolling Stone magazine about the song. "I'm pretty good at taking accountability now, and I never did anything to deserve that. It was a really lousy thing for her to do," he said. Mayer added, "I was really caught off guard, and it really humiliated me at a time when I'd already been dressed down". Referring to the song as “cheap songwriting”, Mayer also said, "I know she's the biggest thing in the world, and I'm not trying to sink anybody's ship, but I think it's abusing your talent to rub your hands together and go, 'Wait till he gets a load of this!' That's bullsh*t”. Taylor Swift and John Mayer reportedly began dating in late 2009 and broke up in June 2010. The song Dear John was in her album Speak Now in October 2010.
