Robin Gibb has passed away at the age of 62 after a long battle with colon and liver cancer. The Bee Gees star fought a long and hard battle with cancer. Gibb fell into a coma last month after contracting pneumonia after undergoing intestinal surgery. Gibb was one-third of the Bee Gees and sold over 200 million records with brothers Maurice, his twin, and Barry. His family held a bedside vigil for Gibb while he was being treated, singing and playing tunes to him. A statement from his family reads: "The family of Robin Gibb, of the Bee Gees, announce with great sadness that Robin passed away today following his long battle with cancer and intestinal surgery. The family have asked that the Fans and celebrities from all over the world have paid tribute to Robin Gibb, a legend of the music industry. Bryan Adams tweeted, “Very sad to hear about yet another great singer dying too young.” Brian McFadden said, “I hope you’re at peace now”. “It was a real honor to perform with Robin Gibb at the London Proms.
