Coldplay are expected to announce an Australian tour when they come down under for a quick visit later this month.

The band are booked to play intimate shows for 2DAY FM and Sunrise during a two day whirlwind visit on February 16th and 17th, and are expected to announce a 2012 Australian tour while they’re here.

With Paradise being the biggest hit of the bands career, a tour could be the one thing to push it over the line and give Coldplay their first number one single in Australia.

Front man Chris Martin, has previously joked that he was jealous his wife Gwyneth Paltrow beat him to that goal in 2000 when her Huey Lewis duet Cruisin’ reached number one in Australia.
