Lady Gaga and Julian Assange…what a strange combination.

Lady Gaga, while in London promoting her new fragrance Fame, dropped in to the Ecuadorian Embassy to visit Wikileaks founder Julian Assange.

It’s been speculated that a tweet to Gaga from M.IA may have prompted the visit.

"if ur at harrods today, come visit Assange at the Ecuador embassy across the st. im there. ill bring TEA and CAKE."

Gaga was promoting her new fragrance at Harrods, which is directly across the street from the Ecuadorian Embassy when she dropped in for a bite of dinner.  The pair visited for several hours, shared a meal and posed for a picture which was posted to her website.

Julian Assange was granted asylum by Ecuador in a bid to avoid extradition to Sweden.
