Life after Charlie – Esther Anderson One week on and Summer Bay just still isn’t the same without Charlie. After three and a half years, fans said their goodbye’s to the ‘hot cop’ after she was shot and died. "I was trying my hardest not to cry because I was supposed to be in a coma!" Esther says. "So I wouldn't say it was a fun last week on set but it was nice, and a fitting way to go after everything she's been through. She's dodged quite a few bullets and this one unfortunately she didn't." TV Week also reports that Esther has a new love! While she’s taking things slow and doesn’t want to mention any names, the former Home and Away beauty has already been linked to new Cats captain Joel Selwood. They’ve been spotted getting cosy around their hometown of Geelong after meeting at a Cat’s president's lunch in June. Howzat! Lachy Hulme! Lachy Hume will appear as the former owner of the Nine Network, Kerry Packer in the mini-series which focuses on his creation of World Series Cricket. The Offspring actor will play the role instead of Rob Carlton who was initially set for the role, however producer John Edwards and Co Chief Executive David Gyngell were “blown away” by Hulme’s audition tape. The mini-series is set to debut later this year. Matthew Newton back in court Matthew Newton will face court today in Sydney over allegations he punched a taxi driver in the head in early December. The troubled star was arrested last month over claims Newton punched the taxi driver. The cabbie stopped the taxi, demanded Newton leave and the actor assaulted the man again. The actor has been issued with a field court attendance notice for two counts of assault. Newton has admitted to struggling with post-traumatic stress, obsessive-compulsive disorder and bipolar depression. Reports state that this time, Matthew Newton may not avoid jail time. The Nanny abducted by aliens? Fran Drescher, better known as Nanny Fine from The Nanny, has admitted to being abducted, probed and microchipped by aliens. As if that doesn’t sound bad enough, she’s dragging her gay ex-husband, Peter Marc Jacobson down with her. Drescher told the Huffington Post, “You know, it's funny because Peter (Drescher's ex) and I both saw (aliens) before we knew each other; doing the same thing, driving on the road with our dads.” "We were both in junior high. A few years later, we met, and we realised that we had the same experience. I think that somehow we were programmed to meet. We both have this scar. It's the exact same scar on the exact same spot.'' Her former husband contests these allegations though, claiming that the scar on Drescher’s hand was caused from a drill bit or by burning her hand holding a hot cup of water. Drescher has an answer for that too: "I said to him, that's what the aliens programmed us to think. But really, that's where the chip is.'' Tennis Ratings The top 20 ratings are in!
