Looks like popularity is up for Prime Minister Julia Gillard, who is making headlines around the world after her she UNLEASHED on Tony Abbot in Parliament.

In a passionate 15 minute speech, Gillard told Tony Abbott in no uncertain terms that he has a long history of misogyny and sexism and blasted him for “peddling a double standard”.

The video of a shrinking Tony Abbott and fired up Gillard has now gone viral.

Prime Minister Gillard has been compared to the Incredible Hulk by the New Statesman in the US stating, “The Australian PM is angry.  You wouldn’t like her when she’s angry.”

Actor Chris Addison tweeted, “This is the best smackdown I've ever seen. Glorious. Advance, Australia Fair!”, before a second tweet of, "That Julia Gillard speech is mesmerising. You can see the colour drain from him. Wonderful."

The Spectator told of how Gillard “carved” Tony Abbott “to pieces”.

A reporter for Telegraph in the UK wrote, “Watching a female Prime Minister tear apart the male leader of the Opposition with such aplomb, composure - but most importantly armed with a brilliantly impressive set of insults - backed up with dates and times of when each shocking comment was said - was the best card Gillard, ever the political animal, could have played in such a situation.”

One of the best descriptions of the heated confrontation was from US Jezebel.com, who described the video as the “best thing you’ll see all day:  Austrlaia’s female Prime Minister rips misogynist a new one in epic speech on sexism”.

Gillard seems to be congratulated for “ripping him a new [you know what]” and has also been described as one “badass motherf*****”!
