iOS6 is here! How to get your iPhone, iPad and iPod updated

While the iPhone 5 is out, not all of us can afford to rush out and pay $800+ for the new tech device, or we’re stuck in contracts on the old 4S, but never fear, the software update is here!

So you may not get the faster running speeds, or better network capabilities, or the larger screen, but you can get over 200 new features for your existing phone, just by updating the operating system to iOS6.

Before You Update

So while it’ll be cool to have all these fancy new features including new 3D maps and better Facebook integration, there’s a few things you should do before you update.

Download the latest version of iTunes 10.7 — This will add iOS 6 compatibility to your software
Back up your photos and important files. Even if you use iCloud, consider doing a full backup in iTunes, just in case.
If you don’t already have a copy of your contacts and calendars on your Mac or PC, go ahead and back those up too.
Find your power. Apple won’t let you update your device if you don’t have a minimum amount of power. The updates are fairly large, at over 500MB per device — so go ahead and plug into some power before starting the update.

Highlights Of The Socceroos 1-0 Win Over Iraq

All hail the Wodonga boy with the golden head. If you missed it last night, Australia took on Iraq in a qualifying match for the 2014 World Cup. The game was scoreless until the 85th minute, when Kennedy, after only just getting on the field, headed in a goal! It was the only scoring shot for the match, which meant Australia secured second place in our group and are off to Brazil in 2014.
