Today, Australia lost a legend in Jim Stynes. Not Really a familiar name to us in NSW, but an AFL legend, spiritual leader of Australia’s oldest football club, Youth Role model and much more… Jim Stynes is an Irishman who emigrated to Australia, and not only played AFL, but won the Game’s highest honour, the Brownlow medal, and also Played 11 years straight without missing a single game. This Video tribute from the Herald Sun’s Mike Sheahan sums up a lot of the reasons he was loved:
Jim also recieved an order of Australia, as well as being Victorian of the year. You can check out the story here, or read some more tributes in this story here. |
