A bloke called Larry Schreiber was charged with drink driving after being pulled over in June last year. Naturally, he hired a lawyer, and it seems, a damn good one! Instead of fighting the drink driving charge, the lawyer managed to get the prosecutors to change the charge to “Operating an Aircraft while intoxicated”, in exchange for a guilty plea. And of course, this left him with a clean driving record… “Due to an oversight in the DMV record-keeping system, Schreiber’s conviction — listed as a non-traffic violation — flew under the radar and wasn’t listed on his official driving record until officials were contacted by the Sheriff’s Office and The Reporter.” So the bloke got off scot-free (unless he likes to fly planes in his spare time)! Bet his lawyer would have had a nice little bonus slipped his way.
