A senior local doctor has himself had to be taken to hospital this morning after being attacked in Nowra. The incident happened in Junction Street about 1AM. The 55 year old doctor told police he was getting into his car to go to the hospital to see a patient when he believes he was hit from behind. When he regained consciousness the doctor was lying on his back and unable to move, and had to use his mobile phone to call police. He was treated by paramedics and taken to Shoalhaven Hospital for a more detailed examination. Police have interviewed a number of people found wandering the streets of Nowra in the early hours of this morning, but no charges have been laid. |
