I was one of those people who went to uni straight out of highschool and then proceeded to pretty much sleep through every lecture (when I turned up) and pretty much just game. Yes I was not the best of students, but I did get the town planner bug. I was attempting architecture (yup thought I’d take up wearing black skivies too, trust me architects were doing it way before Steve Jobs). So what does an architecture student play? SImCity!
The new SimCity looks amazing, sure better then the originals. But most excitingly it is NEW!
The best part about the new version is that it looks like they’re really trying to make it as hardcore as possible, so that the diehard fans will not be disappointed.
You have to be across everything, from power plants to where the tip will go, it’s all really important. Police stations need to be in centrally located areas to be effective and keep crime low in residential areas. Your water supply needs to be far away from industrial areas and so on. It’s awesome!
The casual gamer might be a little scared off by the complexity, but I guess they can always go play the tablet (iPad) version. Out Febuary 2013, I’ll be pre-ordering.
