Cant get into the Olympics

Every Day people line up and loiter with bits of cardboard or cheap tees with marker pen scrawled, with messages of desperation, like “NEED TIX FOR ANY SPORT – WILL PAY” – and the organisers of London 2012 are not happy about it.

In fact they police this pretty rigorously, more then 30 scalpers have been heavily fined and in some cases arrested.  It doesn’t seem to stop the flow of people willing to risk it.  And one family who have traveled to the UK to watch the games are out with the best of them with probably the saddest sign of them all:

The Sign Reads:

"MY SISTER IS COMPETING TODAY PLATFORM 10M DIVING AND WE DON'T HAVE TICKETS. WHO CAN GIVE US A TICKET?"

Tonight 15 year old Carolina Mendoza Hernandes will compete in the women’s 10m platform diving preliminaries, competing for Mexico.  Her family have travelled to London, but will not be able to actually watch her dive as they have no tickets.  Their efforts, sign and all, have not worked.  With the Olympic Police kicking them out pretty fast for tarnishing their pretty Olympic glass fronted ticketing office.

Makes you want to go give them a hug ey?.
