The teen choice awards is all about fans making the ‘choice’ – each winner gets a surfboard to take home (although not all took theres home, I’ll let you know in a bit). This year it was in LA in the Gibson Amphitheatre and if you missed all the action, here are the best moments.
1. Twilight Gives BackWe’re all getting a bit sick of hearing about Twilight winning every award (except the Twihards, they love it). But this time after Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner picked up their surf boards, Pattinson asked “I don’t know if I am allowed to – can I give this to the audience?” – he then gave it away! Stewart followed and gave away her award as well!
2. Unexpected ConfessionsBritney Spears judging style is a little on the annoying side, Demi Lovato reveals that she really is annoying to work with, saying: “Did I saw irritating? Yes, annoying, very annoying." But no hard feelings, she added. "That's what makes her special, and I really do love her. A bit." Spears and L.A. Reid kept it kind, telling Lovato they missed her while she was playing host.
3. Big SmilesEllen DeGeneres can add another job to her resume: tooth fairy. After kicking off the night with a win in the comedian category, the talk show host shared the stage with Sophia Grace and Rosie – the Nicki Minaj-singing mini duo who are recurring guests on her show – whom she presented with sized-down Teen Choice surf boards of their own for their web-star wins. But there was another milestone in the works for Sophia Grace, who revealed (and wiggled!) a loose tooth for the crowd. "Should I just yank it out now?" DeGeneres asked.
4. An Oscar-Worthy PerformanceWhile accepting a win for his laugh-out-loud performance in 21 Jump Street, Jonah Hill gave a shout-out to another big-screen star – the one whom he lost to at the 2012 Academy Awards. "I was nominated for an Oscar earlier this year, and I lost to ... Christopher Plummer," said Hill of 82-year-old Plummer, who scored the gold statuette for his role in Beginners. (Hill was nominated for his supporting performance in Moneyball.) "I'd just like to point out that he's not nominated for anything tonight," Hill deadpanned. "So ... I'm better." 5. And This Is CrazyThe show ended on a high note – with the ultimate summer sing-a-long song. As Carly Rae Jepsen launched into her pop anthem "Call Me Maybe," online submissions plus earlier footage of some familiar faces belting out her hit on the red carpet rolled. Also getting into the spirit of her catchy tune: Pauly D, Tia and Tamera Mowry and Modern Family's Rico Rodriguez in the audience. Source: People.com |
