bidforsurgery

A while ago I found the worlds most boring website, it was a blog, entitles ‘The Dullest Blog in The World.’

But in an effort this morning to chuckle about something else on the internet, I decided to look into the ‘worst website’ on the internet.  This website is, without a doubt, BidForSurgery.com.

Sadly it’s exactly what you think it is, eBay for tummy tucks.  When you click onto the ‘about’ area of the website you get some seemingly coherent talk:

“Consumers who seek elective, aesthetic medical procedures… can spend countless hours researching, pricing and finally selecting the right surgeons and dentists. MedicineOnline.com, through Bid For Surgery, enables consumers to harness the Internet to save time, money and effort, make better-informed decisions regarding their own healthcare, and improve their lives.”

Save money?  Alright, lets look at placing a bid?

To the left is a list of surgeries I can bid on, reading the list i am already getting the ‘ewws’ – I am not good with needles and blood, but I will persevere for the good of… well nothing.

Besides, I’ve always wanted a nose job.  So lets get this done!

Formatting Fail on Firefox

Okay I should mention at this point that not only is the material of this website horrible.  But it also is really, really badly designed.

Text goes over text, in other areas it’s lost behind images and other bits of the website.  It may even stop me from placing a bid!

Okay, now on Internet Explorer (Never thought it would come to this...)

Huraah!  Internet Explorer formats the website fine.  I can now scroll down and look for a link that might say “place bid.”

After scrolling through a lot of helpful artist-drawn-pictures that will show me how they’re going to brutalise my nose, there is still no place bid icon.

15 minuets later I still cannot see a button saying “place bid”… This is obviously where eBay sorted their sh*t out.  They actually made it possible to place a bid (seems pretty important for an auction website??).

How to place a bid?  Take my money please!

We have got how much it will cost though!  Between $4703 and $7435… seems very precise.

Starting to get the ‘this could be a fraudulent website feel,’ but if I want to go ahead, looks like I’ll be selling the 1999  Mazda and probably my TV and anything else of value in my home.

I am looking and looking… wasting a lot of time at work.  And then I see this little green button called GO!  Could this be what I am looking fro the whole time??  At first it looks like a search engine go, but at this stage I’ll try anything.  This website fails on another level.  It’s impossible to use!

Awesome.  It doesn't work.  back to Firefox to see if that will work?  Oh that’s right the formatting is stuffed on that and the go button is hidden.  Fail.

I give up.  This is the wost website on the internet.  The idea of bidding for surgery is bad enough, but the website itself is a labyrinth of badly set up links and not once did it ask me to sign up for anything.

If this is in fact a front to steal your money, internet theft 101 says get personal info ASAP.  Emails, names, bank details… but alas no, none of that is asked for.

This is the worst website on the internet.
