Wingecarribee Council will today seek urgent clarification of claims the approval for the $8.4 million re-development of the Moss Vale Pool is invalid.

Reports this morning suggest the state government's Joint Regional Planning panel will declare its approval of the project " on ice "  because council has altered the conditions.

Council will reportedly be told to issue a new " notice of determination "  which must comply with the conditions of consent, as set out by the planning panel.

It is not know at this stage if council will be forced to stop work on the project, which to date has seen the removal of the old pool shell and demolition of other facilities.

Council candidate Ian Scandrett says he would not be surprised if council ended up levelling the site, filling in the holes, and turning the area into a car park.
