Hume Coal is opening a drill rigging site to the public to provide a demonstration on how the coal exploration process works on private land.

The demonstration will be held on Hume Coals private property  'Wongombra' located west of Sutton Forest.

Project Manager for Hume Coal Tim Rheinberger says the seminars are aimed at dispelling some of the misconceptions about coal exploration.

Starting on Wednesday the 29th August through to Saturday 1st September sessions run for around 3 hours between 10am to 1pm.

Geologists, engineers, environmental planners and consultants will be available to answer questions about mining processes.

Mr Rheinberger says the seminars are interactive and people attending will get a full explanation of the exploration and mining process.
