Two well known southern highlands businessmen have announced the formation of a team to contest the Wingecarribee council elections next month, and promising to stop construction of Moss Vale Pool.

Grahame Andrews and Charlie Johns are the first two members of the "  Coalition for Change "  team.

Mr Andrews takes the number one spot, Mr Johns will be second, with other members of the team to be announced over the next week.

Mr Johns says the team will be campaigning on financial responsibility, getting back to basics, and balanced growth.

Mr Andrews says the team is particularly concerned at the potential for budget blowouts on the Moss Vale Pool, will halt the project, and go back to the community to see what is wanted, and where.

The group also says  will stop the planned demolition of the Mittagong Bowling Club.
