A memorial service for renowned international travel consultant, Warwick Vyner will be held in Mittagong on Friday (Aug 3), where some of Australia's prominent business leaders are expected to pay their respects.

The 73 year old passed away peacefully at his home in Burrawang last Friday (July 27).

Mr Vyner grew up in Armidale and from small country beginnings became a highly sought after travel agent with clients all over the globe.

He worked for Qantas in Sweden and for various travel companies before setting up Travel Associates in Sydney with his partner, Christopher Dean in 1974.

Mr Dean says Warwick was a total professional and had a large following of high profile, international company accounts.

Mr Vyner retired to Burrawang more than twenty years ago and immersed himself in the local community.

A memorial service to celebrate his life is being held at St Stephen's Anglican Church at Mittagong from 12 noon on Friday (Aug 3), followed by a wake at the Burrawang Hotel.

Mourners are requested to wear bright colours and all donations will go towards the formation of the Warwick Vyner Foundation to support the health, welfare and education of young people in the Wingecarribee.
