One of the high profile  teams in the Wingecarribee Council elections has been rocked with the sacking of one its candidates.

Sitting councillor Larry Whipper says Liam O'Hara has been asked to leave the  " People Power " team.

Cr Whipper has declined to comment on a reason for the move, other than to say it has been endorsed by other members of the team, and that he believes Mr O'Hara may put out a statement in due course.

Mr O'Hara is an economist and runs a consultancy firm.

Cr Whipper says he expects to announce a replacement for Mr O'Hara in the near future.

People Power is the second team forced into changes a month and a half out from the September 8 poll.

Earlier this month the Liberals were rocked with the resignation of Alan Hunt from their team.
