Council Candidate – I Feel Blackmailed
Thursday, 19 July 2012 00:01

franklin family moss vale A Wingecarribee Council candidate says he feels as though he has been blackmailed into not talking about a long running dispute with the shire over the location of a sewer main.

Greg Franklin and his family purchased a block of land in Parkes Road Moss Vale, only to discover when they went to build their dream home, there was a sewerage pipe running though the property.

Mr Franklin says the pipe was not shown on council plans, and delays to starting the home have set  him back thousands in interest rates and increased costs.

Council has refused to pay compensation, and while it  has finally agreed to move the pipe, has told Mr Franklin he must sign a confidentiality clause, and not talk about what has happened.

Mr Franklin says that is a bit difficult when he is trying to run a political campaign,  highlighting the trauma his family has been put through
