Legal proceedings against a Marulan man accused of killing two motorists on the Hume Highway earlier this year resume in Moss Vale today.

Truck driver Kaine Barnett has been charged over the deaths of  tow truck driver Geoff  Clarke and  stranded motorist Sarah Frazer who were killed near Mittagong in mid February.

Mr Clarke was loading Ms Frazer's broken down car on to a tilt tray recovery vehicle, when they were struck by Mr Barnett's courier truck.

Mr Barnett was later charged with dangerous  and negligent driving.

The matter  is due for mention today, with the Department of Public Prosecutions due to update the court on progress in the case.

Ms Frazer's father Peter has presented the state government with a petition containing more than 20,000 signatures calling for the construction of wider breakdown lanes on main highways.
