Wingecarribee Mayor, Ken Halstead has refused to give himself a $910 pay rise from next month  (July).

The Local Government Remuneration Tribunal has set the annual increase for councillor and mayoral allowances at 2.5% for 2012-13.

This means the allowance for Wingecarribee councillors will rise by $420 from July 1 taking their annual fee to $17,060.

But Mayor Halstead told councillors he would not be accepting the fee increase which will be deducted from his mayoral package for the remainder of his term.
