Mayor Knocks Back Pay Rise

ken halstead Wingecarribee Mayor, Ken Halstead has refused to give himself a $910 pay rise from next month  (July).

The Local Government Remuneration Tribunal has set the annual increase for councillor and mayoral allowances at 2.5% for 2012-13.

This means the allowance for Wingecarribee councillors will rise by $420 from July 1 taking their annual fee to $17,060.

 

Mayor Knocks Back Pay Rise But Mayor Halstead told councillors he would not be accepting the fee increase which will be deducted from his mayoral package for the remainder of his term.
