A woman has suffered a broken angle in an abseiling accident on the southern highlands.

The woman slipped an fell at a spot known as " The Wall " near Wingello.

Wingello Rural Fire Service volunteers were first on scene, and comforted the woman.

Because of the rugged and isolated nature of the area, the volunteers then had to escort in other emergency service personnel, including paramedics,  so the victim could be treated.

She was taken to hospital and is in a stable condition, but that was not the end of the drama, as one of the RFS tankers became bogged and had to be freed with the assistance of the many helping hands on scene.
