P-Plater Clocked 69 km/h Over Speed Limit

pollice logo A P-Plater has been caught allegedly speeding 69 km/h over the speed limit in the Southern Highlands last night (Thursday 7th June 2012)

The 20 year old female driver from Harris Park was allegedly driving a Peugeot 206 hatchback when she was clocked by Goulburn highway patrol travelling 159 km/h in a sign posted 90km/h section of the Hume Hwy near Mittagong

The woman is a P1 - licensed driver, she was issued with an infringement for exceeding the speed limit by 45km/h, which carries a $1915 fine

Traffic and Highway patrol operations manager Superintendent Stuart Smith reminds motorists speed contributes to 40% of all fatal crashes

As part of the long weekend Operation "stay alert" double demerits apply to all speeding, seat belt and motor cycle helmet offences until midnight Monday
