Highlands Storm Clean Up May Make For Busy Long Weekend
Thursday, 07 June 2012 23:29

ses tree removal. jpg The up coming long weekend could be very busy for a lot of locals as the clean up continues in the wake of this week's wild wind and rain.

SES  volunteers across the coast and highlands have responded to more than 100 calls for assistance this week, after Tuesday's storm.

Most of the calls were for large trees falling near properties, with a number of sheds being destroyed however luckily most houses were spared major damage.

30 local volunteers combined with the RFS have been attending to the clean up.

Jacqui Gilmore from the SES says the problem now across the coast and highlands is the danger of more trees falling over after their root systems were weakened
