The nasty legal fight between Leighton Meester and her mother, Constance Meester, appears to finally be over.
Constance has reportedly dropped her defence against her daughter and will no longer be able to claim any of the money she makes. Leighton first filed a lawsuit against her mother in July, claiming that the $7,500 she sent home each month to help care for her younger brother Alexander was misused by her mother for personal reasons, such as cosmetic surgery.
Constance promptly countersued, asking $3 million in damages, stating she was owed the money for supporting Leighton's career, and that she "sacrificed her happiness" in order to help Leighton pursue her dream of becoming an actor.
Leighton then claimed there were no contractual agreements involving money between her and Constance. The Gossip Girl star has been making moves to get her 17 year-old brother out of her mother's custody and into her NYC home, so she can care for him and help with his health problems.
