It was bound to happen, but nobody expected it to be this soon. Kim Kardashian, the night before heading to Australia to headline an appearance at Oaks Day in the Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival, has filed for divorce from her husband of 72 days, Kris Humphries.

Citing such reasons as Kris being "fame hungry" and "chasing his own celebrity status" and some definite alarm-bell moments such as when Kris hired his own publicist and started talking about his "brand" and how he's like to front a cologne and a string of nightclub appearances, it's not surprising that the less-than-subtle Kim has called in the lawyers and decided to end it all.

Those who marry by the glitter will inevitably divorce by it, I guess.
