Man Injured In Nowra Axe Attack – Woman Being Questioned

police mobile command post A woman has been  questioned over an incident where a man was attacked with an axe  in  Nowra early this morning.

The assault  happened about 1.30 in Wallace Street.

The 43 year old man  lost a considerable amount of blood after suffering a severe laceration when he was struck with a tomahawk to the back of the head.

He was  treated by paramedics and taken to Shoalhaven Hospital.

Police say the man has also suffered hand injuries, with the damage so severe, the man will have to undergo specialist treatment in Sydney.

A 42 year old woman was arrested at the scene,  and was taken to the Nowra police station where she has been interviewed by detectives.
