The main road link between the south coast and Sydney is still closed because of a bush fire, but there is an alternative available.

The F6 has been closed at Bulli Tops because of a blaze to the west of the freeway.

The closure is only effecting north bound traffic with an alternative available via the Old Princes Highway.

However because there is only one lane north bound police say drivers should allow extra time for a trip to Sydney.

Outbreak of the fire while it is still winter has raised serious concerns as to the vulnerability of the south coast in a few months  time, with the arrival of extreme weather over summer.
