Woman Survives To Tell Tale Of JB Hit Run – Up To 100 KPH
Friday, 10 August 2012 05:24

Ambulance At Shoalhaven Hospital An incredible story of fate falling on the right side of the ledger this morning,  after a woman survived being hit by a car  in a 100 KPH  " hit run "  near Jervis Bay.

The incident happened about midnight on the Huskisson Road west of  the entrance to the tip.

A woman aged between 45 and 50 was walking along the road when was hit by a passing vehicle.

The woman suffered cuts, and  abrasions  and was lapsing in and out of consciousness when police arrived on scene.

She  was treated at the side of the road by paramedics  before being loaded into an ambulance and taken to Shoalhaven Hospital.

Paramedics say it appears as though the woman only suffered a glancing blow from the passing car, and was hurled off to the side of the road.

Police say the driver of the car failed to stop and was last seen driving west on Huskisson Road towards Jervis Bay Road.

The car is described as white in colour with pop up headlights.

One of the headlights may not be working.

Police set up a crime scene on the Huskisson Road, calling in the Ambulance Rescue squad to provide lighting, while forensic police photographed the area as a part of their investigations.
