A Shoalhaven Council candidate says the city's sad and sorry saga of sporting field problems has escalated, with a multi million complex lying idle, because it is too dangerous to use.

Ward Three "Team Gash "  candidate Patricia White says council has spent almost three million dollars on the West Ulladulla sporting complex, but the new oval can not be used because of the rough playing surface.

The access road to the complex remains gravel, as does the car park, which has become a de facto speedway for hoons.

West Ulladulla's problems follow on from recent sports field controversies at the South Nowra, St Georges Basin and Huskisson soccer grounds.

Mrs White says West Ulladulla in particular is a major embarrassment
