Nowra’s All Consuming Cockies Trash Telstra Tower

white cockatoo Huge flocks of ravenous white cockatoos have been devouring everything in their flight path including key communications components on the Telstra tower in Nowra.

The tower is located beside the Stewart Place car park in the Nowra CBD and carries mobile phone and micro wave links.

 

telstra tower three The Cockies have been consuming cables leading to the antennas and the covering of a large microwave dish at the top of the steel tower.

On Saturday Telstra riggers used a massive 55 metre Boom Sherrin elevated work platform , or cherry picker, brought down from Port Kembla, so they could replace the damaged equipment.

 

 

telstra tower one The Cockies have also been causing grief for Shoalhaven Council, stripping bare trees in the CBD and dropping their disease riddled faeces on the pavements and street furniture in the town.
